Five persons were killed on August 12 as a car fell into the Panj River in Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). The accident took place in the morning on the 390th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Kulob-Khorog highway near the village of Vishkharv.
The driver apparently lost control of his Lexus and it fell into the Panj River. .

Hundreds of sheep died falling into an abyss in Shahrinav district, not far from Pariyon Lake area in the Qaratogh Gorge, about 70 kilometers west of Dushanbe. Three suspected participants in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack have been charged with planning another attack, TASS reports , citing case materials. The investigation alleges that they intended to carry out the attack using homemade explosives.
Moscow has extended the investigation period for the case concerning the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall until December 22, 2024. Citing court materials being at its disposal, RIA Novosti says the main suspects in the case are citizens of Tajikistan. No further details have been provided.
